Dan Drennen, CIC, LUTC (Owner)
Dan began working in the insurance industry in 1994 and has a degree in business administration and a minor in marketing from Bemidji State University. Dan is a co-owner of Itasca Reliable Insurance Agency Inc. Dan is a Certified Insurance Counselor since 2008 and has his LUTC: Life Underwriting Training Counselor.
Dan feels fortunate to have grown up on a small resort on Pokegama Lake. He grew up enjoying hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and many other outdoor activities. He has two children, Bella and Gus, with his wife Denise.
Bryan Sergot, CIC
(Owner)
Bryan recently moved back to his hometown of Grand Rapids after working for a property/casualty insurance agency in Colorado. Prior to moving to Colorado, he worked as an underwriter for a large insurance carrier. Bryan earned his B.A. degree in Insurance from St. Cloud State University.
In his spare time, Bryan enjoys everything the lakes and woods have to offer with his wife, Danielle and dog, Blanche.
Greg "Buzzy" Passard
Born and raised in Grand Rapids, Greg has been working in the insurance industry since 1982 and began working with us in 1987.
Buzzy is committed to serving clients and making their insurance decisions simple and affordable.
In his downtime, Buzzy enjoys duck hunting, fishing, golfing, and spending time with family and friends.
Mark Butterfield, CISR
Mark joined Itasca Reliable in September of 2018 obtaining his Property and Casualty license at that time. He earned his Certified Insurance Service Representative designation in 2020. Mark is a lifelong resident of Grand Rapids and has been involved with Grand Rapids Amateur Hockey Association serving on the Board of Directors and as a coach.
Mark worked in the mining and power generation industries until 2016. From there he went back to college and obtained his associates of science degree with honors.
Mark is married to Amanda and has three children. He and his family enjoy spending time outdoors hunting, on the lake, camping/travel, and volunteering in the community.
Becky Irving, CISR
Becky joined the Itasca Reliable Insurance Agency Inc team on September 1, 2017. Previously an agent with Grand Rapids State Agency for 17 years, she looks forward to continuing to serve these clients at the new location and is excited to meet and serve the insurance needs of Itasca Reliable’s clients as well.
Becky obtained her Property/Casualty and Life/Health license in 2000 and earned her Certified Insurance Service Representative designation in 2011.
Becky and her husband, Mark, have two grown sons and two grandchildren. In her time away from work, she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and family; biking; 4-wheeling; camping; and music festivals.
Laura Stupar, CISR
Laura joined us in September of 2004, after earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Office Administration and Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Bemidji State University in 1989. She also obtained her Property and Casualty Insurance License in 2004 and became a Certified Insurance Services Representative in 2007.
Laura’s main focus at the office is working with Daniel Drennen on his personal lines book of business. She is also a team player helping out wherever she is needed in the office.
Laura has been married to her husband Mike since 2011, has 2 grown children Kelly and Jacob, as well as 3 granddaughters and 1 grandson. Laura enjoys camping and bonfires, outfishing her husband, playing cards, planting her flowers each summer, and a variety of crafts, including sewing and crocheting. Her favorite pastime is spending time with her family!
Sharon Thibault, CIC, CISR
Sharon has been involved in all aspects of servicing insurance for customers since 1984.
Her background includes designations of Certified Insurance Representative and Certified Insurance Counselor and a Minnesota Licensed Insurance Agent.

Sharon is committed to providing the highest quality of service to our clients.
When not at work, her focus is on enjoying time with family and friends.
Lori Bondhus, CISR
Lori gained her B.S. in finance and marketing from St. Cloud State University (although she's a Minnesota Golden Gophers fan).
Lori expertly handles bookkeeping, technology, marketing, and advertising for the agency. With an organized hand, Lori keeps us on track and operating smoothly!
She became a Certified Insurance Service Representative in 2006. In her downtime, she spends time gardening, golfing, fishing, and sitting by bonfires with her husband, Larry.
Stephanie Voltz-Westberg, CISR
Stephanie was born and raised in Grand Rapids MN, living here her whole life except for a 2 year period where she went to experience Chicago living. She has been working in the insurance industry for 8 years and recently joined our team in November of 2018. Stephanie is licensed in Property/Causality, Life, and Health. Stephanie loves interacting with customers and helping them with their insurance needs.
When Stephanie isn’t working, she spends a great deal of time volunteering with the Grand Rapids Yellow Ribbon Citizens Committee which helps Veterans and their families. She enjoys the summer months on the lake, spending time with family and friends, especially her granddaughter Maddison.
Matt Varin, CISR
Matt was born & raised in Grand Rapids and attended St. Cloud State University. In 2003, he and his wife moved to Arizona where he started working in finance and sales. After starting a family, Matt & his wife moved back home & are now raising their 4 kids here in their hometown.
When not at the office, you can find Matt running kids to and from their various sports & activities, and squeezing in weekends at the cabin from time to time. Lake time, snowmobiling, hockey, fishing, hunting, and all the Northern Minnesota pass times apply to Matt.
Matt looks forward to serving the community and beyond for their insurance needs.
